Hot Tub Cover FAQs

Hot tub covers play an important role in protecting your hot tub from the elements as well as reducing energy consumption and retaining heat. An old, worn out cover won’t be insulating your hot tub properly which will result in rising energy bills and reduced efficiency.

Is it time to replace your hot tub cover?

It is important to look out for signs of wear and tear on your cover, this can include cracks or tears in the vinyl or sagging. Changes in the shape of your cover could cause your cover to let heat and water vapour out, and debris in. If you cover is beginning to sag this will result in an insufficient seal around the edge of your hot tub leading to rising energy costs and reduced efficiency.

Has your cover become heavy and hard to move?

It is very likely that over the years the inner core has absorbed water vapour causing it to become waterlogged. Not only does this create the perfect environment for bacteria and mildew to grow, the increased weight will begin to put added strain on your seams and handles.

The most vulnerable part of your cover is along the hinge/fold, if this area has deteriorated or is unprotected, this will allow heat and water vapour to escape. A full central heat seal can be significant in retaining heat and saving rising running costs of your hot tub. All of our hot tub covers come with a full central heat seal.
